Today is All Saints Day here in Hungary. They celebrate the day here by visiting the graves of loved ones and leaving candles and flowers. At night the cemeteries are lit up with all the candle light, but tonight we don’t have the energy to go look.

Hey Jerry, It’s All Saints Day here in the US too! Your Catholic friends celebrate by going to a Mass of rememberance for all who have died during the year.

How about that! I didn’t grow up with that tradition, but I think it’s a much better celebration than Halloween! Cathy grew up in a Catholic home, but she hasn’t mentioned celebrating the day to me as we’ve watched things here. Maybe I’ve been a poor listener.
It seems like a great way to bring practical meaning to Hebrews 12:1 by remembering those who have recently died and finished well.
