The MC view
The first [full] day of MinistryNet* was almost 12 hours long!! It went well, but everyone was exhausted. I’ve been the MC which has been fun. The hardest part has been starting the sessions on time; I’m normally 10 minutes late in life but we promised everyone we’d start on “Yes/Yes” time. C.f. James 5:12.
* Check out the conference website (in blog format) for a current summary of what is happening.

Day 1 - fun
Our first conference session happened tonight, and it was really fun! I saw friends here at my new home that I’d met before from various places around the world at their homes. Not only that, but I met many others whose names Tom and I had been working with for the past few weeks. And I met people whose names I’ve heard over the years but never had the chance to meet. I won’t repeat the cliché that it was like heaven will be - but there I just did it.
The “Orangejacks” (Rob and Patricia) are staying with us. Annie is keeping them entertained, and we are enjoying catching up with them again. Both of their blogs have a few pictures of their time here so far. I keep forgetting my camera.

9 in, 1 out, 1 to go
Oumar got his visa in Paris today and should arrive here tomorrow! That’s an answer to prayer. Hopefully we will hear from Austin, applying for his visa in London, soon - or just see him when he (hopefully) arrives.

MinistryNet arrivals
Today they began arriving. Unbelievably this batch made it through Paris with all their baggage. Normally Delta schedules this route with about 45 minutes to change flights in Paris. This often doesn’t work and results in the traveler arriving in Budapest a day before their bags.
Thus Air France’s nickname in Budapest, “Air Chance.”

Cool new toy out there: PSP
This week Sony released their new PSP (Playstation Portable). The first 1 million units come with Spider Man 2 preloaded. Cool!

Sony also plans to create a movie download service similar to iTunes. Put those two together and you could definitely have some fun!

Don’t know if I want one personally, but I bet it won’t be long before Andrew starts asking.
